Very roughly, we can say that in a traditional house, the height of a door is approximately three quarters of the height of a wall; and the height of an adult is two thirds of the height of that wall.
Of course, these proportions will not be the same in a church, a supermarket, or a train station, but they should allow you to start drawing your first living spaces.
Stand against a wall and look at the opposite wall. This wall can be roughly represented as a rectangle, centered within your frame.
