Customizing the z/OS Environment with Symbols
This chapter is a technical overview of techniques for running multiple systems utilizing:
- Shared Parameter Libraries
- Symbol Substitutions
The systems represented are running as virtual guests under z/VM. It is not necessary that they be running as virtual guests to utilize the optimizations presented here, although some parameters relate to a virtual environment. Although a general knowledge of MVS parameters and symbol usage will make the chapter easier to follow, it is not required.
