Chapter 17Just because you killed a cow doesn’t mean you’re gonna eat steak for dinner. There’s lots of messy work to do, and none of it is easy.

Shout “Change!” in a crowded movie house and people will ignore you, shush you, or flip you off. That’s true in business, too. Knowing you must change, believing you can change, and screaming you will change—even starting to change—doesn’t mean you’ll get everything you want immediately. Change is a mentality and a process that takes work. You can ask the right questions, have the right attitude, know your conditions of satisfaction, and identify the next steps, but all this means nothing if you can’t push forward through all the inevitable messiness.
