As George S. Patton said, no one should “fight a battle if you don’t gain anything by winning.” And winning in war and in business comes down to having strong tactics for your best-case and worst-case scenarios. Thus, your team members need to understand your entire tactical approach, your goals, and how you and they will be measured. To do that, you have to make sure they (and you) understand what tactics means.
