Department of Electronics and information technology (DeitY)
is the nodal ministry
for the purpose of promoting e-Governance in the country. Its main role has been to
formulate an e-governance plan for the country. Infrastructure created by DeitY in-
clude creation of State Wide Area Networks (SWAN) and State Data Centres across the
country, Common Service Centres (CSC) in the rural areas and State Service Delivery
