Creating a Data Source Name (DSN)
Before you can get into the actual programming of ADO, you first have to enter information about your data store by creating a DSN through the ODBC Data Sources applet in the Control Panel. This DSN, in combination with ADO, will allow you to easily connect to your data stores. When you create a DSN in this applet, you are not making a connection to the data, but entering information about the connection you will make.
