Office Web Components
There are four components collectively known as the Microsoft Office Web Components; they are the Spreadsheet, Chart, PivotTable, and Data Source Component. They are designed to bring interactive spreadsheet modeling, database reporting, and data visualization to control containers that support ActiveX. Remember that COM and ActiveX are one and the same, so these terms are interchangeable. The best containers are Internet Explorer 5.0 and 4.01, Office 2000, Visual Basic 6.0, and FrontPage 99. Other containers can be used; they just have not been tested thoroughly.
