Vector Markup Language

Vector Markup Language (VML) is used to describe graphics and is implemented in IE 5. It allows you to use a fairly natural form of markup tags to draw shapes on a Web page, and it's a precursor to creating animations. Actually, there are currently three major specifications for XML graphics vocabularies: Precision Graphics Markup Language (PGML), Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG), and Vector Markup Language (VML). Since you're working exclusively in IE, this hour will demonstrate only VML, which is fully supported in IE 5.
