Appendix A. Configuring the Software Development Kit

The Java 2 Software Development Kit 1.3 (SDK 1.3) is a set of command-line utilities that are used to create, compile, and run Java programs.

This appendix covers how to use the command line and fix any SDK configuration errors that might occur.

If you haven't installed the SDK yet, you should do so before reading this appendix. That topic is covered during Day 1, "21st Century Java."
