Q1:How can I apply edits I made to library items in only some of the linked files?
A1: I caution you to be careful if you are maintaining various pages, some with the newest version of the library item and some with an old version. You can select only the pages you want to update. Instead, why not open the library item, save it with a different name, apply your edits, and then replace it in the selected pages?
Q2:What types of objects are appropriate to put in the library?
