Web Search Strategies: Finding the Needle in the Haystack

Here’s a fact of life: when searching a manufacturer’s technical support database, you can do as good a job as the first-level support operator you’ll get when you place a tech support call. (Actually, I’m being kind to first-tier tech support operators. The fact is that you will probably do a better job.)

The key lies in knowing what to search for, where to search for it, and how to formulate your queries. Even with all the excellent search engines on the Internet, a certain black box approach is necessary when looking for answers to network problems.
