Name Resolution and Server Location
Name resolution is an important building block for Microsoft Networking, as with any network service. After our discussion in Hour 1, “Understanding Networking: The Telephone Analogy,” you’re probably comfortable with the fact that any network name needs to be resolved to a network address—that is, when you point your browser to www.jotto.com, the name gets resolved via DNS (Domain Name Service) to the network address 205.134.224.21.
