Chapter 9. Cropping and Resizing Your Pictures
It would be pretty unusual to have your pictures come out of the camera perfectly composed, showing nothing more than the subject as you visualized it. Even the fanciest cameras, with the biggest and best zoom lenses can’t always give you what you want. Maybe you’re standing on a cliff, about to slide into the Grand Canyon, as I was in one of the examples that follow. Maybe there’s something in the way of where you needed to stand to get that perfect shot. Maybe you just can’t get close enough. (Those darned security guards...) Maybe you shot the picture as a landscape, and then found out you could sell the middle part as a magazine cover.
