Creating Multiline and Password Textboxes

Take a moment to examine the textboxes in Figure 10.5. Note that these textboxes allow for a single line of text. As you likely know from your Internet surfing experience, textboxes come in other forms. The two variants of the textbox are multiline and password.

A multiline textbox contains more than one row of text. This type of textbox is commonly used when the user needs to input a large amount of text. For example, online message board sites are discussion Web sites where visitors can post questions or comments and reply to other comments. Typically, multiline textboxes are used when the user enters a comment. (See Figure 10.6 for an example of a multiline textbox.)
