Running a Web Server
Using Linux, you can configure your computer to act as a web server—a computer that delivers web content to web browsers running on computers around your network or around the Internet at large.
The web server software included with Fedora Core 4 is the single most popular web server platform in use today and is known as the Apache web server. To use your Fedora Core 4 system as a web server with existing web content, you must complete the following tasks:
1. | Install the Apache web server by installing the web server software group |
2. | Install the tools used to configure the Apache web server by checking system-config-httpd in the Server Configuration Tools software group |
