Work Processes
Several types of work processes execute behind-the-scenes in your SAP system, performing different types of functions—all of which can be customized. Work processes perform the bulk of the processing carried out by SAP, including performing dialog steps in user transactions, database updates, and record-lock management. If you are curious to see which work processes are executing at any given time in your SAP system, use the transaction code /nSM50. Check out the example in Figure 14.7.
