The Art of Photos in Tumblogs
Photos and other static graphics have two important roles in blogs: as illustrations for text posts and as the central point of a post. In Tumblr, photos are particularly important. They often stand on their own, with little or no comment.
The Tumblr community tends to value a certain terseness and precision, in words and in pictures. The trick is to be creative and distinctive in relatively few words, or with just one picture. Many of the photos in tumblogs are quite striking, and others make up an interesting juxtaposition with the accompanying text or other media.
