Using Real-Time Updates
A real-time update—Google also calls the feature “post to your Place page”—is a brief text that brings an element of life to your page. The posting is up to 160 characters long, the same length as a Twitter tweet. The maximum of 160 characters is only the upper limit; most tweets are much shorter.
