Well-written mobile applications respect the system they run in and the users interacting with them. This includes properly handling operating system events, utilizing the Metro user-interface styling appropriately, providing reasonable and appropriate user feedback, and providing data security and integrity.
Theming
One of the main characteristics of Windows Phone is a standard customizable user-interface theme. That might seem contradictory, but Windows Phone allows the user to choose a combination of background and accent colors through the theme settings screen, shown in Figure 22.1.
