One of the basic peripherals for a PC used to be a difficult installation task for many users, but it is now a fairly simple procedure. Desktop printers have been around as long as PCs and still connect to PCs pretty much the same as they did back in 1981. That is, with the exception of the growing number of USB-connected printers now available (and some printers offer both USB and parallel port connections, so you can use it either way).
