Software tools evolve as frequently as other types of software. Current emphasis in software tool evolution is on providing capabilities that allow you to build solutions for the World Wide Web. If you follow any of the e-commerce initial public offerings in the stock market, you have probably noted the meteoric rises in their stock prices followed by their equally meteoric fall. Perhaps this demonstrates the adage that what goes up must come down, but more importantly it illustrates the pervasive interest in Web technologies and the fact that you can’t time the market. The hottest program topic for the foreseeable future is Web programming, and Cinderella stories are cropping up every day.
