Understanding Online Collaborative Books

As you’ve learned, Wikipedia is a giant online collaborative encyclopedia. But an encyclopedia is just one type of book; the Wikimedia Foundation offers several other sites that let you collaborate on different types of online books. These sites—Wikibooks, Wikijunior, Wikisource, and Wikiversity—operate in much the same fashion as Wikipedia, with the sites’ users writing and editing the text that other users read.
