I'll bet it's been a long time since you've asked someone for his e-mail address and he didn't have one. Probably longer still since someone responded, “E-mail? What's that?” It would probably be odder still if people asked why there's a hyphen in “e-mail” now, when in my books published before 2010 there wasn't, but I'm getting sidetracked.
