Universe Building Blocks
SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.0 administrators build universes using either the new Information Design Tool (IDT) or the Universe Design Tool. In earlier versions of BusinessObjects, the Universe Design Tool was referred to as Designer. The Universe Design Tool is provided in version 4.0 primarily for transition purposes and is not an interface you would use in a new deployment. In version 4.0, the IDT is the primary interface for building universes.
Every universe is organized into a project. A project includes the following items:
