Business Layer Objects
Within the business layer, folders, dimensions, and measures are the primary items a user sees when building a new query or working with an existing report. Folders allow you to organize objects such as measures and dimensions in much the same way as you organize documents into file folders. Measures and dimensions correspond to columns of data in a database table. These objects can be much more powerful than raw data lists, enabling you to add intelligence such as aggregations, transformations, prompts, and formatting.
