The data in Data Set 7.7, “Teaching Methods I,” in Appendix 2, “Data Sets,” are from a study designed to evaluate the effectiveness of three teaching methods (met). Four teachers were trained in each method. The teachers were randomly assigned to twelve classes of eight students (four females and four male students in each class). The experimental unit for the teaching method is the class of eight students. It was thought that years of experience in teaching might influence the effectiveness in delivery of the teaching method.
