Today almost everything is connected: people, places, transactions, devices, ideas. With advances in technology, it is now easier than ever to collect data about these connections and use them to make informed decisions. Network diagrams are a great way to look at this information. In this chapter we will learn more about network analysis in Visual Analytics. First, we will look at the different networks, the data needed to create these graphs, and the data structure needed for Visual Analytics.
