Adam Smith's Collected Works

A definitive collection of the works and correspondence of Adam Smith was undertaken by Glasgow University to celebrate the 1976 bicentenary of The Wealth of Nations. The "Glasgow Editions" and associated volumes were published in hardcover over the period 1976–83 by Oxford University Press and are the proper starting place for any interested scholar. The six titles were subsequently made accessible in quality paperback editions from the Liberty Fund (Indianapolis, IN) and are highly recommended. Only the first two of these titles were published during Smith's lifetime (as indicated by the dates in brackets). The six Glasgow Edition titles and their abbreviations are:
