Foreword

Everyone has to start somewhere. In the world of illusionist scenic painting, this would be a good place to start. For those of you who have limited class time, this is REALLY the place to start. The notion of handing out the assignment with complete step-by-step instructions during the week before class (so that lengthy demonstrations and explanations do not take up class time) is certainly a noble one. There are certainly many aspects of scenic painting that this book is not very informative about, but the book really gets the students right to the painting activity, leading them through quite a lot of projects and ending with a wonderful group painting that they can all be proud of.
