Indian Science Congress and the Three Academies, 1914–35

Among the various scientific organizations in India, the Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA, 1914), the National Academy of Science, India (NASI, 1930), the Indian Academy of Sciences (IASc, 1932), and the Indian National Science Academy (INSA, 1935) merit special attention. The first has been an important annual forum where scientists can meet, present their researches, and exchange their scientific ideas for mutual benefit. Its objective, which also includes the popularization of science, is thus simple but pivotal, similar to that of the British Association for the Advancement of Science.
