Color Corrections and Final Steps

Image of human hair follicle (green) and vasculature (orange), acquired on a BioRad 1024 in LaserSharp 3.1 software (BioRad, Inc., Hercules, CA) on an Olympus AX-70 microscope. A 60x, N.A. 1.4 apochromatic lens was used at a zoom of 1. A krypton-argon laser excited FITC, CY3 and CY5 at 488 nm, 568 nm and 647 nm respectively, through bandpass emissions filters: 520/32, 580/30 and 647/32nm respectively. Image was colorized in Photoshop CS3 Extended, converted to CMYK mode, resampled for enlargement, and sharpened with the Unsharp Mask filter. Scale bar = 60 microns. (Courtesy of Marna Ericson, PhD)
