TwoCharacter Out Loud—Dialogue
We’ve begun our gradual discovery of the process with the identification of character. We’ve made our first choices. As a writer, you will be making choices all the time. Very important to let that start settling in to your understanding of what being a writer is. So, we have a character and we’ve put that character into an outdoor and an indoor location. The locations relate to this character in some way. The person walks by them, or goes inside them, or is involved with them in some peripheral way or important way. And we’ve designated a time frame. It takes place sometime in recent times in those two locations. We were not thinking about what takes place or why it takes place.
