Just as we proved out Story by creating a Step Outline that allowed us to organize and question the logic of the progression, we will now do the same thing with Plot. We will prove out plot the way the scientist proves out his experiment or the detective proves out her theory. We will prove out our story in the plotting of our story. That step in the process is called a Treatment. It is the step that precedes your First Draft.
