This edition contains new material about analysis of postmodern drama and a much-needed expansion of the material intended for designers. To some extent, postmodernism could be seen as a form of nonrealism, which was introduced in the previous edition. Several of the nonrealistic plays included could also be considered postmodern, in method if not in necessarily in viewpoint.
