Chapter 7: Making Eyeballs
Characters are really fun to sculpt, but they look strange without eyes! As humans, we relate to living things through their eyes. This makes us hyper-aware of any problems with the eyes. As sculptors, we need to give the eyes extra attention because messed-up eyes can make our sculptures look uncanny or lifeless.
There are many ways to do eyes depending on the goal of the project. If our goal is simply to finish a sculpture as quickly as possible, we can sculpt the eyes as if they are made out of clay. We provided a set of high-quality sculpted eyes along with our example files in Chapter 3, Sculpting a Simple Character Head with Basic Brushes, but we'll see how to make our own in this chapter.
