Analyzing Quantitative Data
This chapter presents introductory information about statistics to enable the reader to begin to understand basic concepts. We focus on issues and methods of analysis that are common in second language research. The chapter deals with descriptive as well as analytic measures. It also addresses concepts such as normal distribution, standard scores, and probability, all of which are necessary to an understanding of basic statistical procedures.
