2.1 Introducing the Hands-On Environment

In this chapter, we will set up the tools we will use throughout this book for the hands-on exercises, including a full, running web application plus other tools. We will see how to run, edit, restart, and interact with the web application. The application runs in Linux, and for those who are unfamiliar with it, there is a quick introduction at the end of the chapter. You can install the tools on Windows, Mac, or Linux.
