Summary
In this chapter, we examined the history, features, and limitations of Terminal Services and Citrix XenApp server. We started with an introduction to Terminal Services, examining the logical basis of Terminal Services and how it works. We gained a basic understanding of presentation layer protocols and their critical role in the Terminal Services computing world. Next, we shifted our attention to the history of Terminal Services. We learned about MultiWin, the core technology built by Citrix Systems and licensed back to Microsoft for inclusion into what we use as Terminal Services today.
