SCAP Checklist and Check Languages
 
This chapter will introduce you to the basics of SCAP’s checklist language, XCCDF, and check languages, OVAL and OCIL. Each of these three specifications stands on its own and has value, but they have much more value when used together, and they are frequently used together in checklists, with XCCDF referencing OVAL and/or OCIL checks. That’s why we are covering all three in this chapter. First we’ll look at XCCDF, then OVAL, and finally OCIL.
