Abstract

The rapid growth and outreach of cloud computing technology enables various organizations to outsource their computational tasks or helps to sell their computational entities which are idle. At present, cloud computing appears to be a very promising trend, which has tempted several firms to adopt this technology. However, there are still other aspects that a firm must take care of before entering into the cloud computing zone. Among these aspects, security is the most crucial attribute that must be taken care of smoothly and efficiently. Security in cloud computing acts as a very technically feasible yet robust characteristic feature that is capable of providing multipurpose alternative solutions to problems. In the absence of effective security being put in place, the credibility and benefits of cloud computing services are of very little use. The main objective of this chapter is to provide a detailed understanding of this security issue in cloud computing.
