A strong team is critical to the success of any security operations center (SOC). As the front line for most security incident investigations and responses, they are expected to deliver a consistently robust set of services, often under great pressure and constraint. Individuals within such teams often require a wide range of technical and nontechnical skills, in addition to the ability to work effectively as a cohesive unit. In some SOCs, this also means a seamless stitching of many organizations, both internal and external, to deliver on the SOC’s core mission.
