Security risk assessments have been a part of security and risk management for hundreds if not thousands of years. In many ways you could trace their origins back to the beginning of time because humans have always been managing their personal security and risks to some extent. Yet the formal process of conducting security risk assessments for businesses is still developing as our world changes.
One only has to go back in history to discover when and why changes occurred.
