B.1 ASC X9 FINANCIAL SERVICES
This section lists the Accredited Standards Committee (ASC) X9 references. ASC X9 is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) as the standards developer for the financial services industry. ASC X9 is also the U.S. Technical Advisory Group (TAG) to ISO Technical Committee 68 Financial Services and the TC68 Secretariat. X9 standards and technical reports can be found at the www.x9.org site.
Formally, X9 standards are designated as “ANSI X9,” whereas X9 reports are labeled as “ASC X9” since, while they are developed and approved using the X9 ballot process discussed in Section 1.3, “Standards Organizations,” reports are not publicly reviewed by ANSI.
