Lesson 2: Configuring Network Address Translation

Today, the vast majority of intranets use private IP addressing. Private IP addresses are not routable on the public Internet, however. Therefore, to allow hosts with private IP addresses to communicate on the Internet, you need a NAT server to forward traffic to the Internet while translating private IP addresses to public IP addresses.

This lesson describes how to configure a computer running Windows Server 2008 R2 as a NAT server.
