Section 3. Taking Items on Consignment

There's another option available for the collectible reseller. Instead of buying items that you later resell, you can sell items on consignment, as an eBay Trading Assistant. This is a good approach in three distinct situations:

• The owner of a particular collectible refuses to sell the item to you. She may be more amenable to your selling the item on consignment for her.
• You're unsure of the value of an item and don't want to risk your money on buying the item outright for resale.
• You don't have the money to invest in buying items for resale. Since you don't buy the items you sell on consignment, you have no money invested.
