Making Sure Setbacks Don’t Break You

EACH DAY, WE MAY FEEL as if we are making progress toward our goals. At times we may feel like we are standing still; at other times we may feel like we are losing ground or experiencing a setback.
View Setbacks as a Way to Bounce Back
Imagine stretching a rubber band to its boundary without breaking it. Then let go of the band. It likely bounces back to just slightly larger than its original shape before you stretched it. This stretch happens because the band has not been trained sufficiently to hold the much-larger circumference. It naturally bounces back to what is more comfortable.
