So far, we have seen how RDF can represent data in a distributed way across the Web. As such, it forms the basis for the Semantic Web, a web of data in which Anyone can say Anything about Any topic. The focus of this book is modeling on the Semantic Web: describing and defining distributed data in such a way that the data can be brought back together in a useful and meaningful way. In a book about only modeling, one could say that there is no room for a discussion of system architecture—the components of a computer system that can actually use these models in useful applications.
