Own Your Power

Sitting in our weekly leadership meeting, the other regional directors and I sensed something was different. My boss had been frustrated for months with the directions and decisions our company was making, and his lack of control of and ability to make decisions affecting that direction. This week, as he tried to explain the next steps we would take, we asked our usual round of questions to understand how things would work, and his frustration bubbled over: “Guys, I don't have the power to make decisions. They do. All I am is a highly paid sales rep.”
