Almost every commercial software application has a need to save data in a centralized database or datastore. Many different types of databases and interfaces to databases have been built since 2010, and every month seems to bring even more experimentation and innovation. In the very early days of Serverless, the limited availability of Serverless databases meant that database choice was usually the most important and drove other decisions. With the larger number of database options today, it likely makes more sense to start with the choice of API Hub and authentication providers and then select a database that works best with those choices.
