It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

One of the most powerful and easiest ways to start building a Serverless application, or turning an existing application into one that is Serverless, is to use managed services that handle common application functions. Durable managed services tend to have better uptime, latency, stability, documentation, and developer experience than features that are built in bespoke custom code. This appendix walks through a variety of managed services that have large customer bases and likely address customer functionality better than most individual companies’ bespoke solutions.
